MAYFAIR EVENT

Oct 28, 2023

Saskatchewan – Service Update

ATCO Field

REQUIREMENT

In accordance with CPSS regulations, all requisitions must include complete referrer information: your legible name or verified electronic signature (if using EMR), practice ID, clinic address, phone number, and fax number. We are unable to process requisitions or schedule exams without these details. Additionally, the patient’s health care number and the relevant clinical history for the requested exam must be provided. Incomplete requisitions may result in delays in processing and scheduling the patient’s exam.

URGENT CASES

Timely imaging is vital, and we continue to accommodate STAT requests whenever possible. Due to an increase in STAT-designated exams, please reserve this designation for truly urgent cases. This allows us to prioritize critical patients and maintain timely service for everyone. Thank you for your partnership in delivering quality care.

CATHETERS AND ULTRASOUNDS

We have updated our instructions for patients with Foley or indwelling catheters undergoing pelvis, abdomen/pelvis, kidney & bladder, or pelvis/KUB ultrasounds. Patients should clamp the catheter 1.5 hours before the appointment and drink 1 litre of water, finishing the water 1 hour prior to the exam. The catheter should remain clamped until the ultrasound is complete. These instructions will be provided to patients during the booking process. Prep instructions can also be found at physicians.radiology.ca.

35 LANGUAGES AVAILABLE ON PATIENT WEBSITE

Our patient website, radiology.ca, is now available in 35 different languages. Patients can select their preferred language to access exam prep instructions, explanation of services, descriptions of exams, directions for our locations, as well as health and wellness articles. Patients can access this feature from the top left-hand corner of our homepage at radiology.ca.

KEEP YOUR REQUISITIONS CURRENT

We regularly update our requisitions to improve clarity and support more efficient patient care. You can download the updated requisitions for integration into your EMR system. If you require printed copies, please contact us. Visit physicians.radiology.ca for the most current versions.

EMAIL FOR UPDATES

To improve communication and deliver updates more quickly, we recommend using email instead of fax for updates. If you’d like to start receiving updates by email, please send your name, company name, and preferred email address to bd@radiology.ca. If you’re already receiving updates by email, no further action is required. Please note: Patient exam reports cannot be sent via email.
