Diagnostic Mammography and Breast Ultrasound

Mayfair Diagnostics Regina will be introducing digital breast tomosynthesis (3D mammography) starting July 2, 2024. Our leading-edge technology uses low dose X-rays to capture detailed images of breast tissue by rotating in an arc to capture multiple images from many different angles. The computer then processes them to create a 3D image of the breast.

Evidence suggests that digital breast tomosynthesis is better able to detect smaller breast cancers with more accuracy and fewer false positives.

Breast density information will be included in the report.

Diagnostic Mammography Referral:

• Must be referred by a physician.
• Requisitions must be faxed to the Regina clinic at (306) 569-3337.
• Diagnostic criteria can include:
  • Abnormality on a previous mammogramBreast health concern
  • Breast lumps
  • Breast pain
  • Discharge
  • Family history
  • New nipple inversion
  • New pain/problem
  • Previous breast cancer diagnosis
  • Skin changes
  • Unexpected changes

Diagnostic breast ultrasound will also be available starting July 2, 2024.

• Must be referred by a physician.
• Requisitions must be faxed to the Regina Clinic at (306) 569-3337.
• Mayfair Regina will make every effort to book the mammogram and breast ultrasound at the same time, but this will depend on availability.
