Mayfair welcomes referrals from chiropractors to order conventional, investigative diagnostic imaging in support of a differential diagnosis.

The College of Chiropractors of Alberta allows insured in-scope* ordering at our community clinics which includes:

• Walk-in X-ray
• MSK and DVT ultrasounds only. (Does NOT include abdominal, breast, pelvic, obstetric, general, and vascular ultrasounds.)
• Please note that X-ray and ultrasound exams are performed according to standard Mayfair protocols, which may involve a combination of related body parts or exams to ensure a thorough and complete exam.
  • Chiropractors must identify which images are NOT required during imaging. For example, routine C-spine protocol at Mayfair includes AP, lateral, odontoid, and both obliques. For a limited study, you must request C-spine – no obliques.
  • Pain management pre-assessment services can be requested for patients needing injections (e.g., cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine regions). Simply check the “For Pre-Injection Assessment” box on t
• Pain Management Requisition Form.
  • This may include the provision of a treatment plan, pain management options, and physician-directed imaging.
• Nuclear medicine imaging, excluding HIDA (gall bladder function) tests.
• Private MRI and CT services will be offered on a “patient pay” basis with a referral.
